Internet of things: remote asset management

Assetwolf is Tribal's internet of things customer portal. It's a platform as a service.

The Internet of Things is the new technological step forward in communication between wireless devices, and we work in situations where customers need solutions to facilitate access to remote assets. This may be for their own use, or for the use of their customers.

For example, assets can be anything from a fleet of trucks carrying produce to industrial water boilers that must stay at the right temperature. Our Assetwolf platform can make these assets accessible through the cloud, anywhere.

Customer portals

Customer portals or extranets are systems into which clients or staff log in to see their asset data.

By using an Assetwolf portal customers and engineers can easily view that status of their assets, be alerted to any problems and analyse the data.

This data can be shown as graphs, maps, charts and logs depending on the information being viewed.

As an asset manager you can use the back-end of the portal to choose what data templates should be shown.

Portal interface design

The Tribal Systems design team can create you an original portal design, or we can work with brand guidelines so that your portal's appearance blends with your existing website and brand.

There are also off-the-shelf templates, which are low in cost, and rapid to set up. This can be an effective solution for a quickly-built proof of concept site.

We can create portal designs that are responsive (that includes are off-the-shelf templates), meaning that your portal will be optimised for use on mobile devices.

Assetwolf portals can go far beyond handling asset-related data. Using Zenario, portals can include publicly accessible web pages (editable by administrators), plus document libraries, organisational charts and much more.

Portal users

You can allow users to self-register, or you can create accounts as a site administrator.

You can have a team system, in which a user can be marked as a "supervisor" and can invite other people from their customer organisation.

In a typical system, you can connect a user with his or her company assets.

Once registered and logged in, the user is identified to the portal, and can immediately see their data.

Assetwolf has a sophisticated role-based permission system, in which you can make sure the right people get to see data about the right assets.

ERP integration

You can integrate the Assetwolf user management system with your ERP (enterprise resource planning) system.

Servicing and scheduling

ERP systems usually hold customer data, including data about asset inventories, locations, orders, service contracts, service scheduling, and more. Such data can be integrated with an Assetwolf portal by our skilled integration team.

Assets may be serviced by an engineer, who will compile a service report. The engineer can send this service report by email so that it reaches the customer portal and is associated with that asset. When a customer views the asset's data, the service report and images can be seen alongside other data for the asset.
