Bar in the Community "Opportunities" system

Supported by the Bar Council, Advocate sources free legal assistance from volunteer barristers. Within its activities is Bar in the Community (BIC), which offers barristers and chambers' professionals the opportunity to volunteer their professional skills to support charities across England and Wales

Database of opportunities

We created a managed database of opportunities and a visitors' search interface on our Zenario content management system platform.

Search interface

A visitor can search for opportunities according the to kind of role they are looking for.

Alternatively they can search by location, to find relevant organisations in their area.

Keeping things fresh

Many opportunities are valid for a set period of time. So the system automatically removes them when they expire.

Opportunity management

Administrators are able to create, edit and delete opportunities. They can be efficiently loaded and grouped by organisation, being labelled according to the type of work involved.

Member's area

We built an extranet using Zenario content managment system for Advocate's panel members so they can browse available cases which they might be able to assist.

The interface allows members to sort the cases list by area of law and geographic location. Then can view any case details, including who can contact to and/or send an enquiry.
