Document portals

At Tribal, one of our specialisms is building document portals, where a large number of documents are stored on a site.

Documents can be attached to a regular website, or viewed through a special searchable area. Each document can have meta data attached, so that it is categorised, dated, and even related with other documents.

What is a document portal?

Key document portal features

AI features for documents

We build sites that benefit from powerful AI-enhanced features.

  • On-site search can be available to visitors using semantic searching, i.e. searching on meaning, rather than just on text or fulltext matching.
  • Sites that have many large documents benefit from document summaries. When a document is uploaded, our CMS sends it to an AI summariser for processing, and then saves the summary locally for viewing, and searching on, by site visitors.
  • Sites can have a Q&A feature, which makes them far more engaging, giving visitors the impression of a conversation with their specific content.

AI features in secure extranet areas

Your site may not be fully public, and for example, it may have a document library that is password-protected.

The AI-related features may be made available to anonymous visitors — for example to ask for summaries of what documents are in the site — while the actual downloads can be available just for authorised users.
