EUCOJUD

European Competition Law Judgments Database

Database of Judgments of European courts in 23 languages.

Project overview

The EUCOJUD website is a sophisticated database of Judgments from anti-competition court authorities in all European countries.

Tribal was approached by the client to build this sophisticated system, and we delivered the project on our versatile and multi-language capable Zenario content management platform.

The site features a comprehensive search interface allowing users to filter documents by country, case name, case number, Judgment date, court, and various other properties.

Users can perform full-text searches, which search for terms inside document content, with results ranked by relevance.

Matching documents are are displayed with thumbnails, metadata, and download options.

There is even facility for a sequence of Judgments about a case, and when users find certain Judgments they can see the complete progress of a case through Judgments spanning several years.

Multi-lingual features

The portal supports 23 official European languages with automatic browser-based language detection so as to help the visitor view the site in their own language.

Zenario's robust multi-lingual architecture makes it straightforward to manage content across languages through "equivalent page" chains, allowing seamless presentation of the same content in multiple languages.

The entire search interface, keywords, metadata fields, and system messages are fully translatable and displayed in the user's chosen language. To streamline the translation workflow, Zenario facilitates bulk translation import via Excel sheets, making it efficient to deploy content across all supported languages.

This flexible language management system ensures accessibility for users across Europe while maintaining a consistent user experience regardless of their preferred language.

Document administration

The site contains an extranet area for Judges and other legal specialists to log in and upload documents.

The design emphasis is on simplicity, and easy of use, and there are helpful videos and easy links to get support from the Tribal team.

When documents are added, the system automatically generates document thumbnails and searchable text extracts from uploaded PDFs.
